Dream pillow herbs are a natural way to enhance your sleep quality and induce lucid dreams.

They also make fun and easy DIY projects where you can customize your herbal blends to your personal likings. They are also a great way to make use of your excess homegrown herbs and meaningful gifts to your loved ones.

Types of Dream Pillow Herbs

For dream pillows stuffing, you can follow a balanced recipe specifically designed to optimize effects on your brain during sleep.

But you can also cook up your own blend, with adjustments until you think you’ve reached that desirable scent for a well-blessed sleep. As you prepare your ingredients, consider these classics:

  • Lavender
  • Lemon balm
  • Rosemary
  • Jasmine
  • Peppermint
  • Lemon Verbena
  • Cloves
  • Hops
  • Rose
  • Chamomile

Lemon balm

To create your own unique blend, start by gathering your favorite dried herbs. Personally, I find lemon balm to be both relaxing and comforting, which is perfect for a dream pillow.

Lavender, known for its soothing properties, pairs well with hops and adds a balanced touch to the scent. Just be careful not to include chamomile if you have allergies to the ragweed family.

Try This Blend

To create an enticing blend, toss together the following freshly dried herbs in a bowl:

  • 1 tablespoon of hop flowers
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon balm leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon of lavender
  • 1/2 tablespoon of chamomile (optional)

Once the herbs are mixed, stuff them into the muslin bag, and tie it closed. Slip the dream pillow inside your pillowcase, and let the soothing aromatherapy transport you to the world of dreams.

Tip

You can elevate the scent by tossing the mix in essential oils. Just remember not to add too much of it.

Crafting Your Dream Pillow

You don’t need anything fancy – a simple muslin drawstring bag will do the trick. These bags, available in craft shops and online, are typically 3 by 5 inches in size and are free of dyes and sizing.

Step 1: Clean the bag

Before using the bag, it’s always a good idea to wash and dry it to remove any residue from the manufacturing process.

Step 2: Fill in the blend

Once you have your bag ready, it’s time to fill it with your aromatic blend.

Use enough

I recommend using about 3 tablespoons of dried herb blend per bag. You can always open the bag after use, discard the old herbs, and refill it with fresh ones.

Tip

If you prefer a softer dream pillow, consider adding a little cotton or fiberfill material like Long Creek Herbs does with their 5 by 5-inch pillows.

Dreamland Delights

Eventually, the herbs in your dream pillow will lose their fragrance, signaling it’s time for a refill.

Replace the old herbs with fresh ones, and you’ll be ready to embark on another dreamy adventure.

Give your dreams a boost and create your very own dream pillow using dried herbs. Happy dreaming!
